Emma Harper, South Scotland MSP, said;
“The new operating plan from South Scotland Enterprise (SOSE) is extremely welcome – as a consequence of the coronavirus there’s never been a greater need for the support this agency can offer and I know first-hand through my casework how effective, responsive and helpful the agency has been to our region’s businesses.
“Dumfries and Galloway has been heavily hit by the pandemic with businesses facing unprecedented pressures, especially as many of the businesses here rely on tourism and hospitality, some of the worst affected sectors.
“The new plan from SOSE shows bold ambition and a very different approach to tackling the unique challenges faced by communities across D&G, as well as seizing the opportunities which truly capitalise upon our region’s largest and smallest producers – including the ambitions of our major employers all the way through to our micro businesses.
“Should anyone still be looking for any support, then please don’t hesitate to contact me at any time.”
